Mini Blog- #003- Been a Long Time.

Right so yes it has been a couple of weeks since I last did a Blog or Mini Blog, I have been fairly busy with assessments and assignments and school in general, which is annoying yes however  next Tuesday I will have another Blog ready, not sure what on so if you have any ideas or questions please tell me so I am able to prepare something, and yes the title "Been a Long Time" is in reference to Wes Carrs' new single even though i'm not really talking about that.


However I reckon today I can give you a bit of a background to who I am as a Christian and generally just some facts about me, since I've never really wrote about it yet and quite possibly I hope it will inspire you.


So firstly I have grown up a Christian and been going to church since I was in yr 1, so quite a while though as I said in my post about being a Christian in school, those first yrs when you are, well when I was young, it's like the thought of Christianity is normal and to be honest I never really gave it much thought as a kid. However as I grew up I learnt how important it is in my life and began to embrace it more and to this day I will happily call myself a Christian and will take up my cross and follow Christ as I reckon you guys should also do the same. It was hard at first but the more you learn to accept God the more you learn to accept yourself and then it becomes part of your life completely.


I do enjoy many Tv shows, bit of a sci- fi nerd a bit, favourite show being Doctor Who and for those who know me well will know that this is very obvious, I'm not exactly a sport person as such. Also love movies, favourites being James Bond, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Bourne series and generally a lot of action or comedy movies.


So yeah that's a bit about me and basically any ideas for next Tuesday please tell me and keep praying.

Mini Blog- #002- What happens to people who have never heard of God?

An interesting question put to me but definitely a tricky one to answer. 

Firstly I am going to start by saying technically 2nd Mini Blog which aims to answer questions and just to keep up to date on general matters or interesting things of interest I suppose.

For today I have got this question to answer as best I can, as well as a bunch of 5 books called "The Little Black Books" which i have ordered and hear are easy to read and really useful.

So starting with the question "What happens to people who have never heard of God?". 

The bible says that through faith alone we are saved, of course there are many verses about this including:

1 Timothy 6:11- "...pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness."

Hebrews 11:6- "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."

Matthew 13:58- "And he did not do many miracles there because of their lack of faith."

The Hebrews and Matthew passages speak of consequences of not having faith whilst the 1 Timothy verse is telling you to have faith. This all being said then, it is impossible to please God without faith, if you have no faith then how can you be saved.

Ephesians 2:8-10- "⁸ For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— ⁹not by works, so that no one can boast. ¹⁰ For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."

Therefore concluding this part spreading the word of God is important to people being saved. God of course already knows what is going to happen but spreading the word of God not only strengthens yourself but gives people that knowledge of God's work and how important faith is. As well as this I won't ever truely know God's plan but I know that his plan is one beyond imagination.

This next bit is about a group of 5 books called "The Little Black Books" by Scott Petty, which I have ordered recently but having not read them I am told they are very useful and handy, good read and fairly easy to read. They're not big they're quite small books really. 

The five book titles are:

The Bible

Predestination

Suffering and Evil

Sex

"What's Life all About?"

Really not expensive either, about $7 per book so if you get all 5 that's $45,hopefully if I got my maths right, it will be a good bit of reading no doubt and hopefully you will also get them.

Mini Blog- #001-Books & Music attempt 2

Ok so after something happened to my previous mini blog I thought I would try again. In case you don't know though the mini blogs are here for general question answering or interest for you to enjoy. 

There is a lot of good Books and Music out there that will encourage you and uplift your Christian life I will put links to all book websites and song websites in case you want to have a look.

So then firstly books. There is a book I am reading currently called "50 Reasons Jesus came to die", it's by John Piper, very recommended as I never realised just how many reason Jesus died for us, John of course says that there is heaps more reasons, but the 50 there are great reasons.

Another good book i'm sure will be good, i'm started this Wednesday, is 'The Blueprint', my youth leader say's it is a good study book to look through.

Secondly is songs and music, of which there is a lot and is easily accessible from iTunes or music stores or even at your church.

Singers and bands I like include Chris Tomlin, Newsboys, Garage Hymnal, Matt Redman, Hillsong United and Kristian Stanfill.
